ROCK 'N' ROLL!!

I had a dream last night that I wrote a hilarious blog post. I made special pictures that went along with it perfectly and everyone was laughing their heads off. Sadly, I remembered nothing about the content of the blog post when I woke up.

Since I can't remember the dream blog, I'm going to instead tell you about my real weekend, which was SUPER rock-n-roll!!!!! In fact, it's practically not appropriate for a family blog (which this isn't, but if it were... I'd get complaints).

1. I bought a pumpkin from a certified pumpkin patch. I felt like I was straight out of a Charlie Brown Halloween. Which I happened to watch that night, come to think of it. :)

2. I scrap booked with my dear friend who I adore. Later in the evening she hypnotized me with this game piece. It was just like when Kaa tried to hypnotize Mowgli in the Jungle Book. And equally effective.

3. I went to my 7 year old niece's birthday party. She had a Strawberry Shortcake cake. So jealous!

4. We danced to Justin Bieber, or as all kids seem to call him, "Justin Beaver."

5. A chicken approached me.

6. I watched General Conference with my family today (my new cousin, Dana, is pictured here). General Conference weekends are the best, aren't they? For those of you who are not LDS (Mormon), this a conference which is broadcast all over the world twice a year (spring and fall) in which the church leaders, including the prophet, speak. It's something we look forward to!

Not pictured:
I baked and cooked. A lot. I made some chicken chili, some tomato soup, and those chocolate peanut butter thingies! They were all divine.
The Lions won, and are now 4-0. Can you even believe that sentence!?!?
I slept 12 hours one night. Try not to hate me for that. Now that it's fall, we're in the best, coziest sleeping weather!

This was one of my most low-key weekends in a long time and I've loved it. How was your weekend?

One of your most low key weekends ever you say, but somehow manage to make it sound really exciting, possibly by citing things you did that I've been thinking about and wanting to do for a while now. And come on, who doesn't want to be approached by a chicken? That would make the weekend right there.

Ha! That chicken picture really is awesome! :) I'm glad that I got to share in some of the fun this weekend, too! P's birthday party was so fun, but I'm sad that I missed the Beaver dancing. That Justin Beaver kid's the bomb. :) Watching "The Bride of Boogety" is definitely a great way to round out my weekend!

I guess each generation has its beaver - mine was Beaver Cleaver. Justin's cuter, though. It was a fun party, in large part because the kids had so much fun and Paige looked so pretty in her princess birthday dress!

Karate with Scott (7), Cooking too. Frijoles a la charra, Chicken noodle soup. Hand sewing repairs, more patches (this time on the karate Gi).

And trying to get shelves up for family pictures I have inherited them all and currently can access zero... I only got one shelf up because whoever built the house doesn't know what square means... really 1/2 inch smaller in the back. That and I'm a carpenter's nightmare. However, thankfully, it's in a closet and no one need see it but me!

And reading what is still a wonderful blog and giggling about your brief encounter with a chicken.

On a side note, you make me miss my nieces... all 12 of them, and my nephews too all 10 of them.

And thank you for a run down memory lane. I used to pick (not choose, but take it off the vine, which is not easy) at the pumpkin patch in Purcellville. But we paid per pound, nothing like a marvelous 50 cent pumpkin. I think I'd buy the whole lot!

Happy fall.

Wouldn't it be a strawberry short cake cake?
I love the reference to the jungle book. Nailed it!
