I know you probably get tired of my reflections on fall, but it's just blowing my mind with its beauty right now. Sometimes as I'm walking down the street I'm almost overwhelmed with how pretty the trees, and consequently, the sidewalks, are! The leaves are getting to full color right now. It's gorgeous. Like a fairy tale.
Today I raked some leaves, bought some pumpkins and some bulbs, and listened to the geese fly south. It reminded me of a poem and I wanted to share it with you guys, followed by some pictures I've taken recently. If you're not into poetry, don't worry, this is the first time I've shared a poem on here and it probably won't happen much more!
Something told the wild geese
by Rachel Field
Something told the wild geese
It was time to go.
Though the fields lay golden
Something whispered - "Snow."
Leaves were green and stirring,
Berries, luster glossed,
But beneath warm feathers,
Something cautioned - "Frost."
All the sagging orchards
All the sagging orchards
Steamed with amber spice,
But each wild breast stiffened
At remembered ice.
Something told the wild geese
It was time to fly, -
Summer sun was on their wings,
Winter in their cry.

YAY! I love that poem! It just captures that so well! And your pictures are awesome! The top is my favorite, but the bottom one has an awesome glow, too. So beautiful!
How could I be sick of that. Besides, so many, like myself, don't get to enjoy this beautiful amber luster. It brings me home... and who doesn't want to go home?
I love your pictures! That poem is great. I will be in MI very very soon!
Your pictures are great. Thanks. I needed a reminder that it is in fact....fall!
