Here are my favorite ways to beat a bad mood/bad day:
- Sleep! I went to bed early last night and it definitely helped!
- Watch tv shows that make me laugh (examples: The Brady Bunch, Sabrina, 30 Rock, Psych, Parks and Rec)
- Bake something delicious
- Wear a cute outfit (does this one only work for women?)
- Shop for healthy, delicious foods
- Talk to friends/family
- Go for a walk
- Write a nice note to someone
- Make plans for fun events (like my fall bonfire)
I can't believe this picture is on my blog twice now. |
If you're in such a sour mood that even that awesome hair can't help, here's one more attempt. This is a quote from Alice, the maid on the Brady Bunch, to Greg. She's talking about Marcia, who is suffering from low self esteem: "I know she's groovy and you know she's groovy, but she doesn't know she's groovy!" If that doesn't cheer you up, I don't know what will.
What are some ways you fight a bad mood?

Read Elizabeth Downie's blog!
Read a good book, call a friend, worry about someone else, listen to happy/energetic music, exercise.
I'm loving your senior picture. I SO would've been your friend in high school-- we totally had the same bangs!
I think cute outfits work for guys too but they have to be strutting down the sidewalk to the tune of "Stayin' Alive" to really achieve the full effect.
Whenever I want to laugh, I look at that pic
HA! I commented on yesterday's blog post before looking at today's, and TOTALLY put that Brady quote in my comment!!! HA! Clearly we both know what groovy things make us smile.
I do a lot of the same things that you do when I'm in a bad mood. My mantra when I'm stressed or grumpy is a scripture - Philippians 4:13. So I repeat that to myself, and then try to think about life beyond my current problems, and what awesome things are going to happen then. It helps! (And by "awesome," I meant, "groovy.") I also now like to picture Greg Brady in that blue shirt with the laces up the front - can't help but cheer me up!! :)
Hope you are having a Great Day Love you.Dad
I eat something delicious that someone else baked. Watch old movies that I can cry with - Carousel works every time. Read books of no literary value. Eat some more.
Smile until it sticks. Go for a long talk and walk. Buy flowers for someone else. Listen to acoustic guitar music. Think about the beach and mountains. Go for a swim (wish I could do that more often.) Laughing is the best cure. You've helped me through a few disappointments this week. Thanks for the daily posts:D
Glad you're feeling better! And that Alice quote is awesome.
Sure fire thing: Kids!
