That one time with Prince Charles at the parade |
1. Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day. I'm not actually Irish (technically I think I'm something like 6% Irish), but I love any excuse to eat green food so I pretend I'm all Irish for the day (which I think is what most people do, really).
What do you do to celebrate St. Patrick's Day? My celebration pretty much consists of wearing something green so I don't get pinched - well, that and drinking green milk. Actually, I haven't had green milk since elementary school, which is very sad indeed.
A friend of mine believes that kisses are free on St. Patricks day and he goes out of his way to take advantage of the day. What do you guys think? Are kisses free on St. Patty's Day?
2. I really have to give "elliespen" credit for admitting she thinks sneezes have a smell on my previous post. Until she commented, I was almost starting to feel bad for Jesse, being all alone in this world with his super sense of smell. Turns out he's not alone. After I read her comment this morning, Jesse and I had the following textversation:
Me: Someone else smells sneezes.
Jesse: Someone else will live through the apocalypse.
3. I've been tweeting so much lately, you guys. I don't know what has come over me. Boredom? Maybe. Honestly I'm not even sure what I'm doing over there. The other day I tweeted about eating too much basghetti. Also, I just started "retweeting" so it doesn't look like I'm having conversations with myself. There's a learning curve on Twitter and I'm pretty sure I'm not there yet. But I'm loving it anyway, even though I know some of you are haters. I have several friends who roll their eyes and/or groan when I mention Twitter. Which only makes me want to mention it more, of course.
Anyway, come over and follow me on Twitter! I'll follow you back, unless you're the scary kind of stranger.
4. The weather lately feels like fall. Not early fall - the most enchanting time of year - but late fall, right before winter starts. I'm trying to look at this as a good thing, because fall always trumps winter. It's making me nostalgic for Halloween, which I love. Still, I'm aching for summer. Spring is right around the corner, right? Right?!?
5. I ordered Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred video and I'm way nervous - I've heard it's so hard it makes you hate life. I'm going to do my best though - in fact, I'm pretty sure I'll keep a journal of my 30 day progress for your amusement. So keep an eye out for that in April!
Meanwhile, wear some green tomorrow or I'll pinch ya. Or kiss you, depending on what we decide on the question of kisses being free. Either way, watch out.
Happy Wednesday!

I keep forgetting about St. Patty's day. I have big plans to work, then paint. I aaaaalmost ordered the St. Patty's milk shake at Burger King today, but I was jonesin' for a chocolate one, and chocolate pretty much always wins out with me.
I'm not sure how I feel about the free kisses on St. P's Day. Depends on who's giving them out, I s'pose. If the kisses are free, do we get charged for slapping them?
I feel the same way about the weather. I'd like to wake up tomorrow and just have it be spring already!! Enough of this mucky, gray, confusing temperature weather (do I wear a heavy coat? Light jacket? Galoshes? Flip flops?)-let's just get on with spring!
I forgot two very important things-
1. I cannot believe you went to that parade with Prince Charles and didn't invite me!!! I'm hurt. You look amazing in the photo, though. Green's your color!
2. I still plan on teasing you about Tweeting. :) Don't worry, you can tease me about...wow, I'm so cool, there's nothing you can tease me about! (Just let me believe that for a bit...)
Kisses are as free as the green beer you drink on St Patrick's Day. I won't be wearing any green tomorrow. Not to deny my 0.04% Irish DNA, but because I hope someone will pinch me.
Kisses are only free to receive if you are Irish. I once wore a "Kiss me I'm Irish" pin all day in high school and lost track of the kisses I got (granted most were on the cheek and some from girls).
Also.. I've never smelled someone else's sneeze...but mine smell. It's weird.
I'm 50% Irish (Mother) 50% Scottish (Father) but 100% English (maths was never as tong subject in our household....while I have the complexion to carry of green I probably won’t tomorrow, I don’t want people forcing gallons of Guinness down my throat….”Go on, go On, go on You know you want too”…
As for kisses they are just like Lunches and as we all know there is no such thing as a free one….or is it like buses and if one comes along you end up with a load of them…
As tong
You can probably tell spelling wasn't either...
I've got some stinky corn beef in the slow cooker and I'm planning on a reuben sandwich for lunch. We made some green kool aid for the kiddos and I'm sure I will have a green beer today at some point.
I need to get educated about Twitter. I have an account but I don't really understand how it all works. Is there a Twitter for Dummies book? Maybe you could write one :)
Oh and I have the 30 Day Shred video ... the first day I put it in, I couldn't find the DVD remote and therefore couldn't get past the main menu. Put it back on the shelf. Still there.
In honor of St. Patrick's Day, I'm wearing a green tee shirt that has the word SCOTLAND emblazoned across the front. Kind of confusing. I had a reuben sandwich for lunch, but no cabbage or potatoes. And I, with my small bit of Irish blood running through my veins, will kiss my 50% Scottish husband when he walks through the door. That sounds like a good day to me!
I made soda bread and a PowerPoint for my seventh graders. Instead, the seventh grade boys threw a packet of condoms and lubricant around the library like a hot potato and the fourth graders somehow became convinced that I am Irish (even though I look Chinese).
