Gift Ideas

If you guys haven't already seen this, you should check it out. It's called the Snuggie, and my friend Emily brought it to my attention. When I saw the infomercial, it blew my mind. Seriously, who wouldn't want one of these this winter? It's so practical! I'm definitely wearing one to the next outdoor sporting event I go to. Who needs a jacket or sweater!? Bad news for the Snuggie though, it's got some competition with the Slanket. (Best name ever.)

Link to Snuggie ad (I got sick of seeing it everytime I went to my blog!)

You guys know I'm joking.... right? I actually want a Chillow. I'm sick of sleeping with my face in the desert. Honestly.

But if you're tired of carrying your Chillow around with you everywhere you go, you might want to try the Arctic Tie. You wear a bandana around your neck everyday anyway, it might as well be doing a job, right?

Don't thank me, thank Kathy. She's the genius who guided me to these amazing products. My life will never be the same when all these items arrive in the mail. I can't even tell you the problems I've had regulating my body temperature. Problem solved! And yes, I am going to use these all at once.

I was so sick and tired of my pillow feeling like the Sahara when I went to bed at night. Now I can finally experience what it's like to rest my head on an iceberg. The Chillow has saved my life.

I couldn't live without my Chillow. I also don't know how I'd survive without my Shamwow.

I feel like I'm a happy person in general, but when I look at the sheer joy on the faces of everyone in these ads, I realize I'm missing out on so many of the simple pleasures in life! I may have scoffed at first, but now I'm wondering how much fuller and richer my life would be with a snuggie...

I think the Snuggie is superior because it is cheaper and comes in three colors (instead of two). Last night I was trying to cover up with a blanket and work on my laptop and it just wasn't working - Kelly saw me and immediately suggested I buy a Snuggie asap. And think of all the time I could save by wearing it around and even pouring my hot chocolate without taking it off.

I never knew about the Chillow or the Artic Tie, but they definitely scream CHRISTMAS PRESENT!

Oh, and the Slanket looks much too bulky compared to the Snuggie.

What fun products. It's a good thing I don't have more disposable income because I seriously would buy all kinds of stuff off tv. These little commericals make you think you NEED these products.

Emily, check out the Slanket website Justin posted. It looks like it might come in a lot of colors. I'd almost be tempted to get one for two reasons:

1) It's hilarious.
2) It does look pretty warm. Plus, I can't tell you how many times I've tried to answer the phone but couldn't get my arm out from under the blanket.

But I'm pretty sure I'd try to walk around the house in it and I'd probably fall down the stairs.

Thanks Justin. I take back my original comments. The Slanket is way better. It was featured on the Today Show, comes in several awesome colors, and they even make a kids version! What more could one ask for from a blanket with sleeves. Unfortunately, the Slanket is slightly more expensive. But quality isn't cheap.

Elizabeth, I too have had several mishaps while trying to cover up with my blanket and answer my phone at the same time. And I can't tell you how many times I get up to get a drink and I think "if only I could bring my blanket with me." Problem solved!

the arctic tie is actually very popular in the southwest, especially for outdoor activities like hiking. you can find them in a wide variety of colors at almost any gas station. i suppose it makes more sense down there, though, since we're all cowboys who wear bandannas around our necks everyday anyway.

the blanket with sleeves! and the chillow are entirely new to me, though!

While all good ideas, this is what you really need:

Sandy, I guess that makes sense! It's so hot there, I'm sure I'd wear it too. You might want to pick up a chillow for those hot nights.

Dallan, That was hilarious! Totally caught me off guard and I have to admit that I was really nervous at first. lol Leave it to you to post that link. So funny.

Sterling actually bought me the Chillow one year for Christmas! Because I am a crazy pillow flipper who feels like my head is in the desert. It sucked. Its not soft, and can be FREEZING cold. And then after a couple of hours its warm like a desert too. I feel bad we got sucked in.

Is a Chillow required to chillax? I've always wondered where that word came from...and now I know! And that shamwow was AMAZING! That's one that I really feel like I DO need. (Don't be surprised if your Christmas presents come wrapped in one...)

Dallan's link reminded me of another, courtesy Janice:

The Wunder Boner - Bad name, but it looks useful.

The Tiddy Bear - Ellen showed this on her show a few times and she was laughing so hard. Then she gave one to everyone in the audience.

This stuff cracks me up.

Wow...with the snuggie, you're also one head shaving away from looking like a cult member. Am I the only person who thinks this? I mean seeing the couple in their crimson snuggies playing backgammon whilst sitting on the floor in front of the family sofa...you'd half expect to see them mixing cyanide into Kool-Aid to commit suicide before the comet brings the mothership round to them.

Hahaha, Chris, that's hilarious.

i had to come back to this post and comment and here's why. i just found out my boyfriend owns a chillow because he was tired of sleeping with his face in the desert! you'd think this is something that i would have found out before now (he's had it for years, i guess). anyway, he recommends it.

Oh my goodness, that is so funny. Maybe if I ever move to a warmer climate, I'll pick up a chillow. I'm totally sold on it now :)
