The following is a conversation I had at work today with one of our summer interns. He's 19, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't realize how old I am.
Me: So, I'm going to a concert tomorrow night and I'm really looking forward to it!
Him: What concert?
Me: New Kids on the Block!
Him: I've never even heard of them. Are they like from the 80's or something?
Me: Um. Yeah.... Anyway, Backstreet Boys is playing with them too.
Him: Whoa. Backstreet Boys!? They're all old now! They're like 30!
Me: Yeah...

hahahah! Good memories!
Oh man, maybe I shouldn't say that my first reaction sounded a bit like, "What a jerk!!" Just because I KNEW who he was talking to! I support you, E! P.S. My aunt's best friend is cousins with Kevin from Backstreet! Pretty nifty! Have an awesome time at the concert!
Are you down?
Are you down?
Rrrrrock!
Haha, thanks Malissa, but I don't think he meant any offense with it. Thanks for having my back though. ;)
It's becayse you look like you're 23 :)
and by becayse, I meant because ;)
Was that my husband you were talking too? I am pretty sure we had a conversation like this last week.
Have a blast at the concert!!
HA! Reminds me of a date I went on last year where the guy (who was in his 20s) didn't know who Nirvana were. That's when I knew the age difference might be a problem. Kids these days indeed....
Ah those young whippersnappers. This definitely made me chuckle, but sometimes I realize I feel like an old fogey when I don't recognize new groups and artists my students like.
I hope you had fun at the concert! Was it a blast from the past?
Somehow having served as a missionary made me immune to getting old when I was with them... that is until I referred to obsucure 80's icons. If 30 is old does that make me half past old?
haha oh boy, this makes me laugh! I am always asking my younger friends questions to see how old I really am. For example: "do you remember Hey Dude?" It's a fun game!
NKOTB? BSB?
I think they play their music in the oldies station now...I am just saying
An admirer from the distance. ;)
