It would certainly make it more bizarre and a better story to tell. So I guess funnier after the fact- after all the pain is over and you've canceled all your cards and gotten new ones.
Yes it would. I had my entire day planner stolen at goodwill back in '99. It had every address from my mission in it and now that you mention it, I remember hearing 'yoink' while I was looking through someone's used Christmas cookie jar.
I think it would be funnier to the bystanders, but not the person actually getting her purse stolen. Unless that person happened to have a great sense of humor.
I would definitely be laughing as I chased the person down waving whatever weapon I was able to grab, and might congratulate them on the humor factor once I'd regained my possessions. One thing's for sure (as you saw): this post certainly made me laugh! Ah, the very idea!

I think "yoink" makes every theft funnier. I wonder if Justin says that when he's stealing from innocent people?
It would only be funny if I had the Scooby van (whatever it's called) to chase after the thief.
