Thanksgiving Must-Haves

Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and gravy. Those are my top four favorite things to eat on Thanksgiving. After that, it goes: green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, rolls, and everything else. And for dessert: my mom's Oreo delight (a family favorite), and maybe some pumpkin pie.

The one food I don't need: cranberries. I don't even really understand what these go with.

Last night, I mentioned to one of my sisters that when it comes to turkey, I loooove the dark meat. She immediately said, "no! White meat!" Um.... who is she? I mean, the white meat is edible, don't get me wrong, but the dark meat is where it's at. Am I right?

This week I'm making a few dishes (a couple casseroles and an apple pie [here's a link to the recipe - it is SO good]). What is the dish you must have at Thanksgiving? Like, you would be devastated if it wasn't part of the menu.

Man, that lady makes me chuckle every time! She's right, though.

I must have WHITE TURKEY!!!!!!! And I stand by that decision. That with some mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and cranberries (just kidding - I don't get that, either), and I'm set. I'm with you on the Oreo Delight, too. It's the best! And, once my stomach has recovered, a slice o' pumpkin pie. YuMMM

I love sweet potatoes! But with the brown sugar nut topping not marshmallows. Love all the staples, turkey, white or dark, mashed potatoes, gravy, and stuffing. Yum! My husband has to have jello salad. I'm not into cranberry goo either. But this year I'm going to try a cranberry salsa and cream cheese spread. :)

I'm with you on the staples and the dark meat. That pic of Martha and anonymous is hysterical! I laugh every time I see it.
