Thank You!

Thank you, anonymous commenter ("an admirer from the distance"), for the cake! It was delicious and very thoughtful of you. Plus, it's always fun to have something delivered to work! And on top of that, you followed the advice of both me and Pedro. Way to go! Here are before and after pictures (there is still a lot left, but I'm sure that won't be the case by the end of the weekend).

I can't believe that admirer sent you a cake! That is so sweet! And it looks de-licious! (the kids and I will be out tomorrow to help eat it. J/K.)

Most people can't even get their known admirers to get them a cake, let alone a secret admirer! That makes you incredibly special (we already knew that, of course), and it makes him incredibly kind and thoughtful!

And that cake, my goodness...that frosting...the moist layers...the...thick slices...(I might be drooling a bit!).

Does it say something about me that my first reaction to this post is "Oh my gosh! What if the cake was poisoned?!"

I kind of the glass half empty type, apparently.

Wow, and yum!! You are one lucky admired girlie! ;) (P.S. Is he really "anonymous" to you, I'm dying to know...)

Strangers leaving free cake at work? I never knew blogging could be so glamorous :) Looks tasty!

I am really happy you liked it. I was told by the baker that the cake is call, “First Kiss”; I thought that was pretty cool.

An admirer from the distance. ;)

Yeah for Mr. Anonymous!!!!! Though I'm a worry-wort, I didn't even think about the possibility of poisoning... my first thought - after an ear to ear grin - was... youch!!! Elizabeth sent those darn snickers to a girl - not to Mr. Anonymous and he still sent her cake. Good guy!!!
I too want to know if any of us know this guy!!

So, Anonymous gave Elizabeth a "first kiss"? Sneaky! Looks like a juicy kiss too!

The cake tasted just that good, Sarah. And to those worry warts - the cake was ordered from a local place that would lose lots of business if they sent poisoned cakes to their customers. We look forward to our afternoon piece of cake. Wait - I haven't had breakfast yet...

Cake: kid tested, mother approved.

No, I do not know who anonymous is, to those of you who have asked. :) (I really don't!)

Cheers to Anonymous! That was very thoughtful. You are very lucky Elizabeth!

As your anonymous "Uncle Eric" I would like to add to the kudos's for the cake. Yes, I did have one small piece. Your secret admirer not only has good taste in women, but good taste in baked goods as well.
The first time I had an espresso it was at the Blind-Pig. It had to be more than 40 years ago. They had an espresso-cappuccino machine that sat on the bar. Left over, no doubt, from the Beat Generation. (Jack Kerouac may be forgotten, but Maynard G. Krebs, lives on forever) It was the real deal, not this sissy stuff that the coffee shops peddle today. Evan back then, the Blind Pig had great bands in the basement.

Yeah Anonymous! Bold, good listener, charming, funny, thoughtful...

Now here's they question, Anonymous, what good does it do to win a heart if you're not going to do anything with it. And by that I mean, be brave, make yourself know and jump.

My husband & I dated for 5 days. He drove 1/2 a nation away without knowing whether I'd even be home. Be brave you've got a whole blog behind you. Anyway well done and keep it up. Anyone else interested in contributing to the fund for a flight for anonymous to visit Elizabeth?

That was some delicious cake! Thanks for sharing, E. ;) And thanks, Mr. Anonymous. I like benefiting from your generosity. ;)

Did you check it for booby traps? Never trust a free cake.

I got here via the Friday Follow. I always hope to find just two or three good blogs each week. And *voila* here you are. I loved them all because they made me laugh. The Blind Pig was too funny. It's interesting what will make us feel old. In this case, it was a scraggly guys in skinny jeans. Who knew? All of the "reveals" were good. And I loved grandma and the microwave. Of course, grandma and her insights on your hair, weight, how to attract a man, and what you should blog about...priceless. It made me miss my own grandma. She would have been much the same. Thanks for sharing yours. Happy to say that I am your newest follower. I'm looking forward to your next post:-)

I'm curious to know if you ever found out who this admirer is. Plus that was very brave of you to eat something from a stranger, I'd be afraid it was poisoned.
