Save the words!

Am I the only one who wanted to stay in bed this morning? Maybe I'm just coming down off the sugar high I got from eating too many debate cookies last night. But I think it's the weather - rainy fall days just lend themselves to the desire to stay home and read, sleep, watch movies, and sip hot chocolate.

But for those of you who, like me, aren't able to stay at home and get in some R & R today, here's something you can do to take your mind off it. Try to use three words from this list of endangered words today. Personally, I've never heard of any of these words before (have you?), but I don't like the idea of getting rid of words. Together we can try to save them from extinction! I've been trying to figure out how to use them myself. Here are a few sample sentences:

I was really embrangled this morning when my alarm went off and it was still dark out.
Ew, something is very olid in here today.
I heard a skirr outside my window and thought it was a bird, but it turned out to be a ghost.

That last one had a twist, huh? Let me know what you come up with. I haven't been able to figure out how to use a few of them - like muliebrity and fubsy. Actually, those are two I wouldn't mind seeing go extinct.

During the cold months (which is most of the year in Michigan) I like to spend my spare time curled up in front of my space heater dreaming of summer and warmness - which is exactly what I was doing at lunch today when I decided that working is for fools. So after I decided that working is of the Devil and that it should be avoided at all costs, I got in my car and went back to work! Darn the man and his crazy paycheck that pays my bills!!!

Endangered words make me cry.

My muliebrity oft times causes me to feel oppugnant. This leads me to cast an olid malison, sometimes using a periapt, in order to obfuscate the niddering, agrestic people who live in a griseous, fubsy habitation of caliginosity. Must I exuviate this attitude and adopt a manner of mansuetude? Forsooth, I think yay. I must exuviate them and bring them to a nitid location and be their roborant friend and help them be compossible rather than show my vilipendous side. It will be an abstergent experience so apodeictic that none shall embrangle it with some fatidical vaticinate. Though it may cause a skirr.

There. Did I get them all? That may have been over the top and I may have used some of the words wrong. But I tried! How I tried...oh, words. How I shall miss thee!!

P.S. I really wanted to stay home today, too! I love fall weather! Beautiful picture, too!

I personally enjoy the word "fubsy," but I cannot really think of a way in which I care to use it daily.

Well, I went to the gym today and did some "fubsy" exercises! Wait, it meant "squat," right? Altho, I think it means squat in stature. I'll keep trying!

Sarah, good try. Also, I'm impressed that you went to the gym on vacation! When you get back, we have to get back on track. Seriously. I need it! ;)

The last one had a twist, ha ha. I am still laughing at that one.

P.S. I almost didn't leave a comment because the word verification is really hard. ajfiijfe
