Eye Candy

With "Transformers" coming out this week, Kathy and I got talking about the movie and more specifically, Shia LeBeouf. Shia becomes my celebrity flavor of the week whenever a new Transformers comes out. Kathy even told me my tone when talking about him was inappropriate for work. I mentioned this to someone else and they said, "really!? Shia LeBeouf!?" But I know I'm not the only one with an eye for Shia. Which is why I'm going to the drive-in to see Transformers tonight even though one critic said:

"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" -- the most terrible revenge since Montezuma's -- is louder, longer and lamer than the 2007 hit it succeeds."

I'm seeing it anyway. Because that's what you do for your celebrity crush, right? You support them in their movies - good and bad (well, that, and I was outvoted about what movie we're seeing tonight but for Shia, I'll concede).

This isn't the first time I've seen a bad movie purely because of the eye candy - there was Race to Witch Mountain for the Rock, Leatherheads for George Clooney and John Krasinski, and others I probably shouldn't mention dating all the way back to Young Guns II.

What do you think? Is Shia worth it tonight? Have you ever seen a movie you knew was going to be bad just for the eye candy?

Oh my!! That photo of Shia shouldn't be allowed! Fooo! I'm still trying to recover. As you can see, I think seeing the movie's worth it. Who knew awkward, quirky Lewis Stevens would blossom so?!

Oh, and to answer your bad movies for hot guys question, I've seen two not-so-great movies for Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson, I saw quite a few Leonardo DiCaprio movies in high school that were terrible, but he was in them, and I know there are others that aren't coming to mind.

Get a picture and let that suffice. If you keep seeing bad movies, they'll keep making bad movies. Take one for the team, and think of future generations.

Shia is not my style eye candy- Jason Statham on the other hand... Transporter 3 is terrible (though in my defense the first two were entertaining) and I had to see it to support him.

I enjoyed the first Transformers movie and plan on enjoying this one too. I'm all for a mindless action flick when the effects are as entertaining as they are in Transformers.

As a big fan of Shia's all the way back to Even Stevens I say it is worth it. Yu are right Leatherheads was a terrible movie and I am not even sure the eye candy made up for it.

I just watched the Terminator movie for Christian Bale. I might watch Transformers too, but for Josh Duhamel instead. And he is only ever in bad movies unfortunately.

I have seen all of the fast and the furious movies and "the pacifire" for Vin Deisel. Transformers rocked though! Shia is a hottie and that was a good bonus, but i still enjoyed the movie, though i did see it in an imax theater.

I'm sorry to have to report this, but Shia is like 12 years old. I can't take a man seriously unless I know he has no problem growing facial hair. Good luck with that. I'm with you about Race to Witch Mountain, though.

Hahahahahahah - Najah I am dying. He is NOT 12 years old!!! I looked it up and he's in his 20s. But I will say this - I saw Transformers last night and it was lame. And Shia didn't even look that good. Sad. Time for a new celebrity crush!

Have you tried Paul Walker as a celeb crush? I saw a sled-dog movie with him in it, and a crazy trucker movie, too. :) If you need other celeb crush ideas, I have a long list, starting with Michael Vartan!

I like Shia but I always picture him as the dorky kid from "Even Stevens" I just can't get that image out of my head.
