2. I feel like I've been fighting a cold (or whatever) for weeks now. To the point where I'm considering taking vitamins, something I rarely do. Do you take vitamins? Which ones? And which brand? I've heard good things about C, D, and B12.
3. I'm going to a cookie exchange/competition this weekend and I need to win. After my gingerbread house non-win, I am feeling doubly competitive. Do you have a winning cookie recipe I could try?
4. You know what I've been eating lately? Maple and brown sugar oatmeal with a splash of eggnog. Try it. You'll love it. Unless you hate eggnog in which case you'll most likely hate it.
5. What do you think an ideal winter date is? Ice skating? Christmas light viewing? Family gathering? (Just kidding about that last one.)
All right, those are my thoughts for tonight. Time for bed. See you Wednesday!

snowball fight and shoving her face in the snow once you have pummeled her into submition... girls like that stuff..
@Leo the Lion: hahahahahahahaha.
I don't take vitamins, but I'm sure it's a good idea. Sorry you haven't been feeling well.
Ideal winter date? How about all of those combined minus family gathering?! Ha. But yeah, ice skating, lights viewing, hot chocolate sipping, cuddling while movie watching. Let's just do it all!
On the vitamins. Emergen-C is pretty good. It loads you up with lots of vitamins and is a drink powder so it absorbs quickly. Little pricy though.
I just started using a multivitamin I got at the Vitamin Shoppe. I've never regularly used vitamins, but I realized I eat crap and always get sick. I think it's working, and that's the important thing, right?
The oatmeal sounds amazing!!! I will have to try it!!!
I used to take a multivitamin, but my sister Elizabeth got me questioning whether it works or not... You know, I think it did, though, because I feel like I've been getting sicker lately than I used to. Hmmm...
I'm still a little scarred after seeing your gingerbread injuries yesterday. Yech. ;) Hope your hand heals quickly, though!!
As for the cookies- I'll try to see what I have, but I feel like you've got the best recipes already! And as for the oatmeal, I'm not a huge fan anyway...so I don't think adding egg nog would help...
Finally, a good winter date is anything where you get to cuddle... ;) Tee hee! Huh, I just became a little giggly girl. Interesting...
You probably already have the secret to chocolate chip cookies but if you don't it's cinnamon! I don't have cool recipes.. I have pretty good ones for every type but nothing out of the ordinary that would floor people. Choc chip, oatmeal (I wonder how eggnog would taste baked into a cookie?!), snickerdoodles. If you can make the perfect snickerdoodle I'd say go with that. So many people make them waaaay too hard or way mushy. Got to perfect the crisp sugar outside and soft inside.
I drink Monster which claims to have some vitamins. I like the taste, I don't know if I would claim it to be healthy.
I like cookies with a hint of peanut butter. Maybe a white chocolate macadamia nuts peanut butter cookie … that sounds good to me.
Winter dates? Anything with Christmas music makes me happy; cuddling to caroling sounds pretty good to me.
An admirer from the distance. ;)
The idea of going on a date in a beautiful winter wonderland seems SO romantic. But then I remember how badly my nose runs when I'm out in the cold for too long. There's Nothing romantic about frozen boogers on your face. :)-
So am I the only one who is going to ask why you punched your gingerbread house?
I was trying to break a piece off to eat it! It wasn't an angry punch. I am not going to eat it now.... (which is a good thing, really!)
Hmm, as far as cookies go, I'd recommend just mixing in healthy amounts of butter and sugar (healthy amounts being between 2-3 cups), add a good portion of high fructose corn syrup, some chocolate chips, and there you have it, the perfect cookie. The trick to cookies is not to dilute the sugary goodness with flour and other nonessential ingredients.
Does it have to be cookies? I have an awesome cupcake recipe.
I like Mike's recipe but I'm not sure that could be classified as a cookie. And I'd like to see the cupcake recipe.
Seeing the lights at Temple square is a great winter date. I guess that doesn't really help you in Michigan.
